Community Resilience Group
The District Council is encouraging all communities to develop an emergency plan.
There are all sorts of organisations offering help and experience and providing straightforward solutions during various emergencies.
In rural communities, such emergencies might include power failure or flooding. We can develop a plan for safeguarding residents against the effects of flooding and providing means of communication when power is cut off, should the need arise. An emergency radio network exists called Raynet which issues community radios and also gives tips on cheap battery-operated mobile phone chargers that villagers might be interested in acquiring.
Anyone who would like to do voluntary work with the Community Resilience Group should contact the Chair of the Parish Council.
