At the Annual Parish Meeting in May, to which all parishioners were invited, parking in the village was identified as the issue of most pressing concern.
Accordingly two parish councillors volunteered to look further into the matter with a view to identifying problems and suggesting ways in which the Parish Council might help alleviate them. They also reviewed initiatives taken in recent years to address similar concerns.
As the Parish Council is not a highway authority we cannot impose parking rules in the village, but we can ask residents and their visitors, in the interests of the community, to park considerately.
So in an effort to spell out more clearly what we think ‘parking considerately’ means, we have drafted some guidelines.
The next meeting of the Parish Council is on 6 December so we’d be pleased to receive any comments you have on these by 27 November at the latest.
Many thanks,
Paul Bevan
Chair
