NOTE OF PUBLIC MEETING ON TUESDAY 16 DECEMBER 2025
A record of the public meeting is now available here.
Two concurrent projects aim to improve safety for all users on the C7 Lewes-Newhaven road over the next few years:
- The Safer C7 Project plans the staged introduction of traffic-calming along the length of the road.
- The final phase of the Egrets Way Project completes the missing link in the Lewes-Newhaven multi-use path between the north end of Piddinghoe and Deans Farm.
While both initiatives are at early stages of design and will be subject to future public consultation, the agencies responsible are holding a public engagement meeting to explain the constraints and potential measures at Piddinghoe and to answer questions from parishioners.
Stella Spiteri, our Lewes District councillor, has kindly agreed to chair the event, which will involve representatives from:
- The South Downs National Park Authority
- East Sussex County Council – Highways
- The Safer C7 Project
- The Egrets Way Project
